Domestic Violence Shelter

NFHC’s Domestic Violence Shelter provides safe shelter, crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, and life skills training to people affected by domestic violence. Telephone crisis intervention and information is available 24 hours a day.

Currently our Domestic Violence Shelter maintains 24 beds. The first step for those in need of safe shelter is to complete an intake assessment to ensure appropriate care and support.

Services include:
  • A 24-bed secured facility
  • Professional counseling
  • Ongoing advocacy, education, support and tools for safety planning
  • A healing environment
  • Individualized case management & referrals for obtaining services from other agencies
  • After care support

Our Domestic Violence Shelter provides an empowering atmosphere that promotes healthy relationships. During a resident’s stay, they will self-identify their goals during case management meetings and be provided with resources and referrals to obtain housing, employment, medical services, child care and legal assistance.
