Counseling Services

Northland Family Help Center provides Out-Patient Professional Counseling Services free of charge for eligible individuals and families. We specialize in the treatment of adults, teens and children who suffer from the residuals of acute, chronic and developmental trauma. Trauma symptoms can include hypervigilance, flashbacks, sleep disturbances, anxiety, depression/lethargy, or compulsive and addictive disorders.

Who is Eligible?
Individuals who have been victims of crimes including current or historical abuse, domestic violence or sexual assault; and who have not been convicted of a crime against a person are eligible for our counseling services. Other individuals who are survivors of traumatic experiences  may be eligible as well. Call for more information.

Professional Services
In addition to traditional psychotherapy, Northland Family’s counseling staff members have training in a variety of approaches specifically for resolving traumatic stress symptoms such as hyper-vigilance, hyperactive startle responses, spaciness, depression and general anxiety symptoms, and repetitive dysfunctional relationships. These approaches include, but are not limited to: Trauma Informed Care, mindfulness-based approaches, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing® (EMDR), and Somatic Experiencing® (SE).
