ONEAZ CREDIT UNION, ONEAZ COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARD $1250 TO Northland Family Help Center IN Flagstaff
OneAZ underscores commitment to communities,
provides much needed funds via Community Grants Program
Flagstaff, Ariz. (Nov. 7 2016) – Reinforcing their commitment to the communities they serve, OneAZ Credit Union and OneAZ Community Foundation awarded $1,250to Northland Family Help Center in Flagstaff, Ariz. The awards are part of the Credit Union and Community Foundation’s community grants program, which gave $50,000 in much needed funds to organizations who serve a wide range of communities.
“Giving back to the communities we serve is an intrinsic cornerstone of OneAZ’s culture, which is what makes us proud to help the missions of many respected and deserving non-profits with a proven track-record of serving those in need,” said Joseph C. Smith, Board Chair of OneAZ Community Foundation.
Northland Family Help Center was established as a Crisis Nursery in 1978. Over the past 37 years the agency has evolved to provide five main programs including Domestic Violence Shelter, Youth Residence, Counseling, Community Education and Legal Advocacy. These funds will be utilized in Northland Family Help Center’s Youth Residence program and will help pay for the cost of housing, food and recreational activities for the youth we serve.
Earlier this year, OneAZ and the Community Foundation invited non-profit organizations in OneAZ branch locations to apply for a series of community impact grants. The grants are expected to fund programs that provide a direct benefit to the communities served to enhance the quality of life.
In addition to community grants, OneAZ Community Foundation also provides its more than 135,000 members across the state with a college scholarship program. Through the foundation, OneAZ Credit Union continues its 65-year legacy of making a positive difference in the lives of members, associates and communities.
