Northland Family Help Center’s Legal Advocacy personnel provide training and advocacy to women fleeing intimate violence, on legal issues impacting them and their children. Areas of advocacy and training may include; Civil, Criminal and Family Court Procedure, Orders of Protection (OOP), Custody and Visitation matters, Divorce and Separation, Last Will and Testaments and Court Mediation Process.
Every client is offered extensive safety planning and lethality assessment. For women who still live in an unsafe situation, a safe relationship exit plan is developed.
